Doctor Body-Snatcher

*Who fans- if you're behind in episodes, beware: spoilers. If you're not a fan, just go with it. I know I'm super-creepy-obsessive. Shut up.*

My friend Beverly just got back from a family vacation in London.

When she first told me she was going there (after my initial "holy crap, I hate you and your richness and your ability to go to London [which is awesome] and NOT TAKE ME" jealous rant) I told her to keep her eye open for anything Doctor Who related.

She doesn't know much about the show, she just sees my fangirl posts on Facebook all the time, so she didn't understand that London is basically one enormous fan-base.

All that time in London, though, and this is the souvenir she brings back for me:

I would much rather have tickets to the Doctor Who Experience instead of a picture of a poster about it...but I guess it's the thought that counts.

A while back I did a quick drawing of the Doctor and his TARDIS for a sketchbook assignment, and Beverly apparently just saw it on Facebook today. Her being fresh from London and all "what the heck is this Doctor Who thing anyway?" decided to comment on it with her words of wisdom.

[Now you may be thinking, "don't be so hard on her, she's never seen it!" Tsk. Tsk tsk. I must be loyal to my obsessions. Plus, we live in a world where Google is readily available for all her Time Lord researching needs.]

She still wasn't getting it, so after I explained that it wasn't an overnight thing and sent her to watch the ninth and tenth Doctors' regenerations, she finally understood. I think...

As you can see, I got a little sidetracked when Jon started being dumb and not knowing things like he should because he's a Whovian, too. But apparently not a good one.

After that, I just started feeling like a nerd for being all...know-y.

But I think I'm okay with it. If I'm going to be a nerd about something, I'm glad it's Doctor Who and not something completely lame. Like Star Trek.

Okay, fine...I'm a Trekkie, too. But I'm in recovery, I swear.

UPDATE: I hung out with Beverly the other day and she gave me my real London souvenir:

That's pretty darn snazzy. It's all spinny and has little pictures of London monuments on it. And it's super heavy. My keys weigh twice as much as they used to.

But they look a bajillion times cooler now, so who cares?

his daughter definitely regenerated. this 'jon' is not allowed to call himself a dr. who fan if he doesn't know that. also, you should have told your other friend to go to the who shop while she was in london. she could have brought you back a sonic screwdriver or something.

I know! Sometimes I just want to thump that boy.

Well, she said she had something small for me...but I don't know what it is yet. I want a sonic screwdriver so badly...
